As we close out dreary November, let us pause on this day of Thanks to do some Giving. To family, friends, strangers. No matter who where when. Through the ages, the best among us has lead the rest of us to the same state, that of gratitude. For a few moments, join with me to contemplate these sages and their best advice. That is all we need today. “Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” ― Marcel Proust
“Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.”
― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
“Where there is joy, there is creation. Know the nature of joy.”
― Chandogya Upanishad
“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
“The highest tribute to the dead is not grief but gratitude.”
― Thornton Wilder
“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”
― Maya Angelou
“We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.”
― John F. Kennedy
“They do not love, that do not show their love.”
― William Shakespeare
“Thanksgiving creates abundance.”
― Ann Voskamp
“A noble person is mindful and thankful for the favors he receives from others.”
– Buddha
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
– Gandhi
“Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: it must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all.”
– William Faulkner
I am certain each of you has a favorite inspirational quote that refers to gratitude. I’d love you to share it with me. Let’s build a platform of giving thanks together.

Thank you, Moira, for this great collection!
I am very much touched by the Thornton Wilder Saying “The highest tribute …”
It is similar to my favourite saying during the last years,
“Tradition is not to preserve the ashes but pass on the flame.”
Thomas Morus (1478)
I wish Thanks and Thankfulness around the world!
