On the Crest of the New Year

What a year 2023 brought! Challenges abound for sure, but mixed with some fabulous delights. Right? To reflect back on the rollercoaster ride before we officially dismount, let’s remember and appreciate the precious living we all were gifted the past 365 days.

For me, 2023 opened with a surgery date, and ended with a cancer free update. I could start and end with that short sentence alone, and spend months in wild glee. Indeed my good health trumps any of the pitfalls and challenges the year rolled right into our daily. I am grateful for the steady hand of my surgeon and her capable team, as well as the evolving medical professionals directing people all over our planet towards well-being.

2023 also brought me precious moments with those I love, so so many of them. There is always a joy when you get to savor time with loved ones, and that is my always goal, to savor each instant: this year offered sweet celebrations which fueled the months apart.

Those two… and these three… for starters. Joy makers for certain.

After the isolation of the past years, I am grateful that 2023 allowed for gatherings big and small, shinning light into all the darkness we had collectively drifted along in. Hard to not acknowledge how alone time propelled me to paint more, and now to get my art into several galleries. What a thrill to see a canvas go from white to a swirl of color and shape and then bounce from my small studio to out and about on its own.

So, here we are, on the crest of the New Year, with all the carnival ride of possibility ahead. Make it merry. Make it honest. Make it yours.

Happy New Year! xxoo
