Nine Cent Girl is 15!

This month marks year 15 for Nine Cent Girl. Nearly 700 posts being blasted out since my very first with many of you loyally reading along from the start. I am grateful to all who have reached out and let me know what my words mean to you. Writing is done in solitary fashion, with only one’s own thoughts and opinions and reactions and research to guide you. By hearing from friends and family, from other writers, and all the strangers who are now within my circle of correspondence, has made me so thankful for your messages. I remain buoyed by your support and am indebted by your continued readership. I did not enter this role knowing how wonderful it would be, but I am indeed beholden.

I’m Back!

Oh my goodness, celebrating a milestone birthday certainly disrupted all the regular day to day stuff in my life, bringing two weeks of travel for multiple gatherings, yes multiple cakes, and so much fun, but not a single moment to jot down even a thought, never mind a blog post. But now, I’m back! Ready to look forward renewed and refreshed, and with a very full heart.

Lift your Perspective

This week it took some extra effort to rise above the unraveling of so much happening in our world. But I am grateful for the reminders from nature to do just that. Walking out under a broad blue sky, hearing the screech of hawks circling overhead, watching our grandson scramble past the bird of paradise and lizards and palm trees along the hill toward the playground all shift my perspective toward a better place, one that allows for the firm belief that goodness will prevail, as day always follows night.
