Lucky Stars

I find myself satiated by the joy this little guy brings with his every hop and bounce into whatever and wherever. He is on the ready with an easy yes when it comes to any adventure under the sun or moon. I no longer think of what I gave up to move across the whole country to prance about with him; I count my lucky stars that we did.

So many lessons come from spending time with a little one. Did you know that you can eat pizza after ice cream? Or better yet, you can eat and play so you don’t actually have to stop either activity. We have learned that the moon follows us sometimes when we drive home in the dark and it’s always worth looking for. Also, a flatbed truck just might be the coolest ever except for a fire engine, excavator, train, helicopter, or any construction vehicle. At least this is how the conversation often goes with our guy. He rates playgrounds too, being a fan of the bucket swing even though he has most definitely outgrown them. Mostly he teaches us to slow down. To stay present. To allow him to be chillin in his dreamy imagination. A place I too adore getting lost in when given the chance.

My hope, on the crest of this holiday season, is for you to find a ray of light shinning straight into your heart and warming you, with nothing but love.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Happy to see the Moravian stars! They originated with a math teacher at the Moravian boys’ school in Herrnhut, Germany and they brought them to Bethlehem, PA and down the Shenandoah Valley to their town of Salem, NC.
