Sun Tea

Summer is in full swing with soaring sunshine and brutal heat, coast to coast, border to border. Clearly, there is no better time than now to set a few tea bags outside in a jug of water in the morning sun, and by noontime you’ll be able to enjoy a most refreshing beverage. On this glorious August day, why not give it a go?

Sun Tea needs 3 ingredients: the best quality tea you have access to, sugar, and lemon. How much? 8 tea bags to a 1/2 gallon of water. Let that brew under the blazing sunlight. Time? I guess when it looks right to you, weaker less time, stronger more. Sugar to taste.

Lemon to taste.

How much sugar depends on how much lemon. We like plenty of both. Keep testing as you add small quantities of each until you get the desired taste. We add a few slices of lemon, sans seeds, too.

Refrigerate. Add ice. Find a shady spot, grab a beachy novel, sip and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
