Harvest time

I know this has been a busy week with the media abuzz with childless cat ladies announcing their endorsement of Harris while Trump followers are terrified their pets will be eaten by immigrants that only he can stop, but my mind is turning to the season’s harvest. I am not biblical but I do love metaphor and am keenly aware that we do reap what we sow more often than not. Drought, hurricane, or any other cruel act of climate change aside, life brings wonderful gifts this time of year, from corn to tomatoes, from county fairs to back-to-school nights, it’s certainly time to celebrate.

Beyond all the memes and one liners, I do agree that we have far more in common than is often discussed. Most everyone wants a cozy home, whether it is in a Sprinter van or a doublewide or surrounded by acres of pine trees or desert scrub, at the end of the day we head back home to share a meal with maybe a cat or a small tribe of our own. Family is a priority, and what makes this country so amazing is the diversity that exists in the makeup of our family, from step-parents to adopted ones, from groups of friends to people who live with their small furry companions. I admire this country for allowing people to forge their own decisions, to craft their own dreams, to build their own peace.

Keep it up America. You are your own abundant harvest. Creating joy and freedom for the many who walk your land.

  3. So true! Eating pets ws one of the best yet! Let’s discriminate another race, scare people in the city and say the officials are lying. People there are scared and of course what do followers of the demon do, go make a bomd threat. Of course it has to be drama. It’s sick. To be honest I am a Republican but not for now, not until a decent candidate runs. Enough of me tissy. The painting is breaktaking, I love the colors, it’s inviting and invigorating. 🙂

      • Get rid of MaGa and the radicals and maybe we’ll beon better funding. I want Kamala to kick is ass. I like how she has gone toe to toe with the bogus claims. The one thing he said early on if the campaign is that e would do a repeat of Jan 6th if he doesn’t win. I hope that is shut down quickly.
