L is for Lilac

I find I don’t need to say too much about anything important this week. The world is spinning along regardless of reason or empathy in a reckless and measured spin yet I can do nothing except fall with gratitude for each and every happy day. Today, and all the near yesterdays were all about the flowers. The scent. Intoxicating joy. The magnitude galore. Spring Fling in purple for starters is worth a discussion.

The Healing Power of Flowers

It is quite easy to β€œtake time to smell the roses” while you convalesce, in fact, it is perhaps the easiest thing to do. Each sweet bouquet that arrived on my doorstep brought more and more easy joy, gracing our home for more days than you might imagine, with stems of pink and yellow and red, all the colors not seen out our windows during this monochromatic season. Of course, with each flower came healing, their power born of beauty and grace, love and hope.

Transitions

Change is in the air once again. Mornings start off crisp while dusk arrives sooner now that it is mid-September. But I find myself wanting to hold on to the laze of August before it vanishes completely. So I attempt to stroll about in the afternoons and take in the flowering gardens, the green in the meadows, the life of the forest, and all the rest of those sweet reminders that summer holds for us. Tonight why not stroll with me, and enjoy the precious sights that are my immediate world before the seasonal change comes for real.
