This blog is about Chai tea, not because I’m hopping on the trendy chai wagon, or that I want you to rush to Starbucks and order a frothy mix, but because for decades now, my extended family has come together around this brew of ginger, cardamon, milk and tea, and this partnership of yumminess is a piece of our life I want to share. In fact, as I write this, my spouse is graciously making a big pot right now which we will sit and sip together shortly.

Orange Juice
The drinking of orange juice is hardly news, but that won’t stop me from putting my nine cents into the conversation. I mean, as far back as 1971, when John Walton brought oranges home for Christmas in that memorable pilot, we have all witnessed the magic of this fruit, right? But seriously, that depression era TV show highlights my very point: everyone needs a delicious dose of fresh citrus in the winter. As in NEEDS!
Cheesecake Love
As the Holiday parties become faded memories, the shiny decorations are taken down and boxed, the extended family has all gone back to their respective homes, and everyone is back to work, we are being bombarded with some sort of cultural demand for RESOLUTIONS!!! Weight Watchers and Nutrisystem advertisements, along with Bowflex and Gym specials, prod us to eat less but move more, and yet all these ads really do is make me miss the sparkle and joviality and festivities even more!
